Rain

We got around 2" rain last night! Our field corn was starting to really look stressed and the lawn was burned up (except the weeds).

Sauerkraut

We made lacto-fermented sauerkraut last night. We bought a nice cabbage at the local farmers market and used it. It was very juicy. I hope it turns out well. We used the recipe from Nourishing Traditions.

Buck and Molly

Here I am with Buck and Molly. Molly passed away a couple years ago from pancreatitis/diabetes. I still miss her (she is the chocolate lab). Buck is now a senior dog and may not be with us long because of heart disease.

It has been several years since I last posted. I will try to be more regular in writing. We are currently buying milk from a local farmer after milking for a couple years. We still have our "big" herd of two Jersey cows. They were AIed to a New Zealand based Jersey bull.
